MAHILA ADHIKAAR YATRA - BIHAR
The Mahila Adhikaar Yatra is a pan-India outreach program by AIMC to go out to the rural and semi-urban areas, interact with women and understand what they think and expect.
Bihar Mahila Adhikaar Yatra is a three-phase program which will cover various districts of Bihar and raise awareness and action towards the five issues important for safety and empowerment of women in the state today:
1. Women’s Reservation Bill
2. Girl’s education from primary to the highest level.
3. Rising crimes against women.
4. Gender equality.
5. Employment and financial Independence for women.
The first Phase starts on 14th January 2019 from Kishan Ganj and going via Purnia, Katihar, it will finally culminate in Kursela on 16th January.
The second Phase of Bihar Mahila Adhikaar Yatra will start on 20th January from Nawada culminating in Nalanda on 21st January.
The third Phase of Bihar Mahila Adhikaar Yatra will start on 23rd January from Chhapra culminating in Siwan Gopalganj on 24th January.
The Yatra will comprise of Mahila Sammelans, Candle Marches, Pad-Yatra and interactions with women and Media along the way.
